Sustainability
The forest is magnificent. A growing forest absorbs CO2 and wood products store carbon throughout their lifetime. Forest raw material is renewable, recyclable and biodegradable and allows us to stop using finite fossil resources. This will ultimately help to impede global warming and combat climate change. Our operations are based on forest products and sustainability permeates all our processes so we use only processed round timber from sustainable sources. All sawmills have Chain of Custody certification according to PEFC (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes) or are certified in accordance with the standards of the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council).
PEFC / FSC stands for:
- Sustainable forestry
- Protection of forest – ecosystems
- Protection of biodiversity
- Conservation of soil- and water-protection capacities of forests.
